my name is malachi and i’m a 19 yr old man of color asking for a little financial help if any can be spared
my mom recently got a court summons on the basis of eviction + debt arrears from the bank, our neighborhoods HOA, and her mortgage company. on december 11th it’ll be decided if we’re allowed to stay in our home or if we’ll be evicted.
those evicted would include myself, my mom, my 10 yr old sister and my two cats. we’re a povertous family of native afro-latinos. we can’t afford to be homeless. my sister, my mom and i all have pretty extensive medical needs that have to be maintained and homelessness would destroy, if not kill us. (seriously.)
i’ve been having trouble with finding employment because the job scene where i live is really bad, all of my applications usually find their way in the trash can and i’ve been applying like a madman with no luck and no callbacks.
i have $400 to my name as of 11/27/2017 and i need to find a place to stay. most places require 2-3 months rent as an upfront and i’ll probably need roughly $2,100 to find a place for me to stay in alexandria, virginia.
