The question is how far makes the “Return to Kamigawa” camp still happy?
As a Japanese player, I would be happy as long as it’s not whitewashed or has the white savior trope. Magic as a game has evolved to the point where we don’t need exact same mechanics to make the set feel the same.
Hi Mark! Since Kamigawa block was set a long time in the past (relative to the Mending and thereabouts), perhaps a new Japanese block can still be set in Kamigawa, but takes place in the present and thus has a different overall aesthetic, due to the ever-shifting aesthetic of cultures over time. What say you?
