What a time to be black and part of fandom culture

What did I miss?

Thanks! That was an unforgivable omission.

This just keeps getting better

Don’t care if this is for an album but this movie was the shit!

She deserves a fandom

Yall, I don’t think we’re giving Janelle Monae the credit she deserves for her commitment to scifi. It isn’t just a gimmick for her music videos. Science fiction is a cross-platform medium of expression for this woman. When you think about there is something profound about a black female entertainer choosing, repeatedly, to tell stories set in a consumerist future with herself as an android.

She’s sending a crystal clear message. Pay attention.

Afrofuturism on lock!
